Executive, Dignitary Protection and Institute Events

Sergeant Mary Beth Riley oversees these responsibilities and reports directly to Chief of Police, John DiFava.

She is a direct liaison with the Office of the President to support their requests for executive protection, as well as those of the Senior Administration.  Sgt. Riley coordinates security for events at Gray House, integrating internal and external resources as necessary.

These responsibilities include the coordination of Executive and Dignitary protection for those high ranking individuals who visit the MIT campus.  This requires working closely with our Local, State and Federal law enforcement partners, including but not limited to; Cambridge Police, Massachusetts State Police, Boston Police, United States Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security, and the State Department.  As a world renowned Institution, MIT is known to host many high level government officials, military officials as well as the leaders of industry and education from around the world.

Sergeant Riley also works closely with the Office of Institute Events to insure the proper security and safety plans are in effect for all  large scale and high level Institute Events.
